Financial Assistance

Eligible growers can apply for funding to cover farm activities and improvements through government programs and other initiatives.

The BC Ministry of Agriculture offers funding for growers and for industry-related companies. Click here for a list of programs that are offered currently and those that will be implemented in the future.

The Canadian Federal Government also offers funding opportunities and resources for farmers. See their webpage here.

You may also want to take a look at the opportunities offered through the Investment Agriculture Foundation. Visit the "Programs" tab on their homepage for more information.

Take note of the following programs, which may be helpful for your farm business:

  • Agriculture Income Protection (AgriStability)

Helps stabilize farm income by managing the risk of large income declines.

  • Production Insurance

It’s affordable, flexible and efficient, and the minimum coverage provides protection against disasters for a low cost.

  • Traceability Knowledge Transfer

Supports agri-food and seafood industry organizations to educate their membership about traceability systems, practices, infrastructure and technologies.

Please see here a list of resources in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including financial, business, and mental health support.

New Opportunities

Buy BC Partnership Program

IAF (Investment Agriculture Fund) and the Government of Canada have teamed up to offer a funding program for BC growers, primarily to promote their products in the agriculture sector.

Funding may cover the marketing of blueberry products in media, the creation of new branding material, and other advertising-related activities. Full details are explained here.

This program operates on cost-shared funding, meaning they will match contributions made by growers. Please click here for more information on this initiative.
