BC Blueberry Council For Consumers
  1. About the BC Blueberry Council
  2. Market Development
  3. Domestic Market

Domestic Market

BC-grown highbush blueberries set the standard for flavour, juiciness and nutrition. Powered by nature and promoted to our fellow Canadians through our collaborative marketing efforts, we highlight the pride of our BC growers in being the best blueberries around.

The overarching promotional objective of the BC Blueberry Council is to expand market opportunities for BC blueberries in Canada and abroad.

Domestic promotional activities are divided into two campaigns, fresh and frozen.

Fresh Campaign:

  • Our messaging content is focused on creating opportunities to raise awareness of availability of BC blueberries, their health benefits and their diverse uses (e.g. smoothies, sauces or simply snack fresh). We spread this information through mediums such as social media, local events, sponsorships, and industry involvement. Our fresh campaign launches each year in June and coverage extends to September.

    Frozen Campaign:

    • Our frozen campaign runs in the fall and winter months to raise awareness that BC blueberries are available all year round and are just as tasty and nutritious as fresh. To spread the message, the BC Blueberry Council partners with local news and media, diligently updates social media, and puts on creative wintertime events.

Learn about the BC Blueberry Council's domestic marketing efforts, as well as coverage received as a result of activities.
