AgSafe

There's An App For That!

AgSafe has developed a new health and safety app for agriculture employers in BC as a means to comply with specific sections of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation (OSHR) and to exercise due diligence.

The Equipment Inspection App, is a free mobile app for both Android and iPhone users designed to allow agriculture equipment operators to quickly, effortlessly, and electronically conduct on-the-spot pre-operation inspections for equipment such as tractors, forklifts, skid-steers, ATVs, orchard mobile elevating platforms, and greenhouse picking carts. Completed inspections can be emailed to someone at the workplace and kept on file for record-keeping. A free custom database can be downloaded from AgSafe's website here where completed inspections can be stored, tracked, and managed.

Important information for Employers Receiving SAWP Workers

As part of agricultural employers' due diligence, it is important to provide health and safety orientation to new workers. It is essential that all new workers are made aware of any and all potential health and safety concerns.

AgSafe has developed an easy to use resource to assist employers with this responsibility. The resource provides employers utilizing guest workers with adequate tools to enable them to conduct orientation training upon the workers' arrival. Resources available include a DVD, New Worker Orientation booklet and checklist. Resources and training available in English, Spanish, and Punjabi.

For more information and to get your own copy of these resources please contact the AgSafe office at 1-877-533-1789, email them at contact@agsafebc.ca, or check out their website here.
