Wild BC Salmon with BC Blueberries

Warm weather is finally here so it is time to enjoy al fresco dining and delicious fresh berry dishes from some of the best restaurants around the province. Whether you are making the most of patios in downtown Vancouver or exploring wine country in the Okanagan this July, you’ll want to #GoBlue.

The following food spots are using fresh #BCBlueberries to make unique and delicious dishes for British Columbians. The only challenge is to decide where to go first.

Provence Marinaside, Vancouver

Seafood lovers, you’ll won’t regret ordering Provence’s Seared Lois Lake Steelhead Trout with BC Blueberry salsa. This luscious dish is available exclusively this July. Need something to drink? Ask for the exclusive BC Blueberry cocktail, a refreshing gin-based drink that pairs perfectly with Steelhead.

Narramata Inn, Naramata

Possibly the most extensive menu containing BC Blueberries in the province is from chef Ned Bell, at the Naramata Inn. A visit to the restaurant or stay at the Inn this summer is an opportunity to try several dishes including BC Blueberry Lemon Curd Pancakes, BC Blueberry BBQ Sockeye Salmon Oikos, and Chef Ned’s Halibut Burger with BC Blueberry Relish. But before dinner, pop by the downstairs bar, Eliza, and try the brand-new Violet Beauregard Cocktail by bartender Nic VanBergen.

Buttermere Patisserie, Vancouver

Arguably the most instagrammable dish on our list can be found at Buttermere Patisserie. Chef Jamie’s Lemon and BC Blueberry Poppy Seed Roll Cake is a stunning (and delicious!) addition to any afternoon high tea or celebration. The patisserie is also conveniently located inside Torafuku, so you can take home other finger-licking treats.

Chef Ryan Bissel masterfully created a special BC Blueberry Almond Tart that combines delicate nutty flavours with a juicy BC blueberry topping. A perfect wrap-up of a fantastic dining experience by the water on Vancouver Island.
