2010 BLOGGER RECIPE CONTEST
Food bloggers, move away from your computers and into your kitchens! You could win cash! Post an original blueberry recipe on your blog for a chance to win $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third.
Create an original recipe using fresh or frozen blueberries as the key ingredient. All types of dishes and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome – just keep it simple, make it delicious and be creative. Your recipe will be judged on taste, ease of preparation, originality and the importance of blueberries in the dish.

- Contest is open to Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older and currently maintain a blog. The contest is not open to chefs or other culinary professionals.
- Here is how the judging works:
- Ten recipes will be chosen from all the entries for testing in the British Columbia Blueberry Council test kitchen.
- The staff will narrow the field to five semi-finalists.
- Then, a panel of cookbook authors and food editors will taste and judge the five semi-finalist recipes and select the three winners.
- Winners will be announced on September 20. First prize is $1,000, second prize is $500 and third is $250.
- This contest is sponsored by the British Columbia Blueberry Council – www.bcblueberrycouncil.com.
CONTEST DATES
Entries for the contest will be accepted beginning Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 9:00 am ET through 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, August 15, 2010 (“entry period”). All entries must be submitted and received within this time period. Any entries not received within this time period will not be eligible and such entries will not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY
This Contest is open to Canadian residents who are 18 years of age or older as of July 15, 2010. Entrant must currently maintain a blog. For the purpose of this contest, independent blogs and blog pages within a social networking site all qualify as a blog. The contest is not open to chefs and culinary professionals who earn income as food preparers or recipe developers. Current employees of the British Columbia Blueberry Council, its sponsors, subsidiaries, affiliates, owners, administrators, and their respective members, officers, directors and shareholders (collectively “British Columbia Blueberry Council” or “Sponsor”) and Lewis & Neale or CRT/tanaka, and any such employees’ immediate family living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win the Contest.
RECIPE PARAMETERS
An entrant may submit more than one entry, as long as each entry is a different original recipe, but only one recipe submitted by each entrant may be a finalist. If Sponsor determines that any entry is not an original work, incorporates existing copyrighted works, or otherwise does not meet the criteria set forth in the rules, such entry will be disqualified.
FINALISTS
Winners will be notified by phone and/or email. They will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, authenticity, liability/publicity release and assignment of rights within 14 days of notification or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
All entrants acknowledge and agree that all recipes become the property of the British Columbia Blueberry Council, which reserves the right to edit, modify, copyright and publish them for advertising, public relations and promotional purposes in any media without compensation. By entering the contest, you agree to the use of your name for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation. Failure to comply will result in the selection of an alternate winner.
PRIZES

1st Prize – $1,000

The value of each prize may be taxable as income to the winner of the prize, and all taxes associated with each prize are the sole responsibility of its winner, as applicable.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
The Contest will be governed by these rules. By participating in this Contest, all participants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of Sponsor and its agents, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Contest. The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all laws and regulations.
Sponsor, Lewis & Neale, CRT/tanaka and such companies’ parent corporations, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the officers, directors, agents, and employees of any such companies are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) lost, misdirected, unintelligible, improperly formatted, damaged, incomplete, or late entries; (ii) any act, failure to act, delay, or error relating to the transmitting or processing of entries; (iii) telecommunications network, phone system, computer system, hardware, or software malfunctions, failure, disconnection, data loss, or other difficulties of any kind, including any injury or damage to a participant’s or other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in the Contest, or accessing, downloading, or uploading materials relating to the contest; (iv) any conditions caused by events beyond the control of Sponsor that may cause the contest to be disrupted or corrupted; (v) any losses or damages of any kind resulting directly or indirectly from acceptance, use, or misuse of any prize awarded in the Contest or from participation in the Contest; or (vi) any errors in any materials relating to the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify, terminate, or suspend this Contest without notice if causes beyond Sponsor’s control corrupt the administration, security, or operation of the Contest.
CONTEST VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW
This contest offer is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to applicable all laws and regulations. By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to this contest. Prizes are nontransferable. By accepting any prize, winner consents to the use of their name, photo, voice, and likeness for promotional, advertising, publicity or trade purposes in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity by Sponsor without further compensation to winner or any other person depicted in photo unless otherwise prohibited by law. Arrangements for the fulfillment of all prizes will be made by the Sponsor. Receipt of any prize is conditioned upon compliance with any and all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
