New in 2010 Roadside Signage
BC Blueberry Council is pleased to announce that starting July 1st 2011 watch for new BC Blueberries roadside signage. Signs are provided to those of our member farms who have shown an outstanding commitment to food safety. Farms displaying the sign hold a valid "MarketSafe" certificate. MarketSafe is a food safety training program supported by the Regional Health Authorities for those farms who make, bake or grow products to sell at temporary food markets. In addition, farms displaying the signs have successfully completed an On-Farm Food Safety Audit. This means that the farm has been inspected to verify that it is following good agricultural practices which minimize risks and promote a safe healthy product. Watch for our new road sign signs as you seek out fresh blueberries at the farm gate.
